Option C: Sponge (soft + diffused)

If I use a sponge, I make sure it’s slightly damp and I press, press, press. A sponge can steal coverage, so I only use it when I want the most natural finish.

Contouring without foundation (yes, it works)

One thing I learned doing no foundation makeup routines: contour has to be lighter and more controlled. Without foundation underneath, a heavy contour can look patchy fast.

Where I place it:

1) Under cheekbones (but higher than you think) for lift

2) Temples for warmth and balance

3) Jawline lightly, only if I need definition

I blend upward and outward. If I blend downward, it can look muddy. I also blend contour before powder so it stays creamy and melts into the concealer edges.

My placement:

I place blush high on the cheeks and slightly toward the temples for that lifted look. If I want a softer, youthful vibe, I keep it more centered on the apples, but still blended upward.

Cream vs powder?

Cream blush looks the most skin-like with concealer-only makeup. But if I’m oily or it’s humid, I’ll do a thin cream layer and set with a tiny bit of powder blush.
